PTC Brief
PTC is short for Positive Temperature Coefficient.

     In 1950, the Dutch Haayman observed ferroelectric effect of PTC in BaTiO3 ceramic,which later become an attractive research. It took over 20 years for industrialization of PTC.It was not until the recent 40 years that PTC products become wildly applied.Now, it has been an essential part of modern industry.
    This new material consists of swith and glow type. Since it advantages in temperature-sensitive,current limiting,time delay and noise-free,it could be applied in initiating refrigerator, protecting transformer, SPC exchange protection, as well s mosquito repeller,iron,roller etc..The glow type material has characters such as stable performace, rapid heating-up,little influenced by voltage.Therefore, it becomes the most ideal replacement for metal fuse. Now PTC has been used on heater,dryer,air curtain,aircondition etc..
PTC Components
     The R-T chart below descrips main characters of PTCR. R-T stands for the relations between zero resistance and temperature of PTC.Initially,resistance falls when temperature goes up (NTC character). Later on ,it would soar up with temperature(PTC character). At last, when it past the MAX Resisitance Value,the resistance would return to NTC status.The PTC phenomenon is evoked by ferroelectric phase transition.

Tc – Curie Temperature:the starting point of PTC semi-conducting ceramic transition.Usually it is the corresponding temperature to twice value of Rmin
Tmax – Max temperature- the maximum temperature of PTC component;
Tp – Max work temperature-the uper limit of work temperature;
Tmin – Min Temperature, the temperature corresponding to min. resistance value;
T25 – standard room temperature 25℃;
Rc – switch resistance – the resistance corresponding to curie temperature
Rmax – Max resistance corresponding to max temperature;
Rp – Max work resistance corresponding to uper limit of work temperature;
Rmin – Min resistance- the minimum resistance of PTC under normal conditions;
R25 – Resistance under standard room temperature
PTC Heaters
The PTC heater is composed of several PTCR ceramic components adhered to wave Al tube by high temperature. It features in low thermal resistance and high coefficient of heat transmission.Besides, when the fan blocked,power of PTC heater would drop down sharply due to insufficient dissipation.Meanwhile surface temperature of heater would remain at the level of curie temperature,which is usually 220℃so that potential accident would be eliminated. 
At present, our MZFR series have been extensively applied in home aircondition,commercial aircondition as well as household heating appliances.

Durability of PTC Heaters(Decay Rate)
Decay rate is used for evaluating the durance of PTC heaters. According to Industry Standard,the decay rate should ≤10%after working for 1000hours. Here below is the decay rate chart of our standard insulation PTC heaters.
